Khan Academy: Revolutionizing Education and Learning

by admin on May 13, 2011

What makes in part the learning experience incredible is Khan’s understanding of how we learn and how important the teacher is in helping a student gain a solid fundamental understanding. As in math or most anything one piece of knowledge builds on another and in many of our classrooms today students are passed to the next grade with gaps in their understanding and eventually hit a wall.  When they hit a wall they stop learning and get frustrated and quit.

Progressive success in learning skills by building one building block on another is how the journey to black belt is structured, eventually integrated and fitted together with the next so that your individual wall or limitation has a solid stairway built under you to climb the path and achieve all the life long attributes associated with attaining a black belt.

The video is about 20 minutes but well worth seeing IMO

Sal Khan talking about the evolution of the Khan Academy and a new paradigm for learning and teaching.
